Bullying is a horrible unspoken truth about the dynamics of child relationships. I was bullied everyday from 3-8 grade. My hair, my glasses, my braces, my family situation were all targets. While kids can be mean, they learn this from adults. Adults bully as well. The language used to talk about kids is appalling. The labels, the stigmas and the shame needs to stop. Awareness is crucial but sharing our stories is important to. This is why I created stamping out stigmas (a portfolio highlighting stigmas/labels and the stories of overcoming them) and am working on a workbook for educators to reflect on their use of labels. I love collaborating with others to hear their story and see how we can launch this project to the next level
