Videos to Help Spanish-Speaking Students Tackle Tough Topics
According to a report issued by the Immigration Studies Program at the Urban Institute, children of Hispanic origin constitute nearly 60 percent of all immigrant youth in the United States. As many of these children are students raised in Spanish-speaking households, it is important that educators and counselors provide them with valuable teaching resources in their primary language, as well as in English. Trevor Visits Africa with the United Nations
Trevor recently went with a delegation from the United Nations to Congo and Burundi as an ambassador of goodwill for children of these armed conflict areas. He visited numerous refugee camps where he met former child soldiers and orphans and tried to figure out ways to renew their hope. It was an unforgettable experience and a true honor for Trevor to have been invited by the United Nations.

Trevor to speak in Germany on behalf of The USO!
On September 6-11th, 2006, Trevor has been asked to speak to the children of Ramstein Air Base in Germany on behalf of The USO! For the past 65 years The United Service Organization (USO) has served as the bridge between the American public and the U.S. military. USO celebrity entertainment tours bring volunteer celebrities to entertain, lift morale, and express the gratitude and support of the American people. Trevor will be entertaining the children of Ramstein Air Base in grades 2nd thru 12th and is truly honored to be supporting them and their families!

Waco, Trevor, and Kids Win!
For the past nine months Trevor has had a special relationship with The Waco Tribune-Herald of Waco, Texas. Each month Trevor has written and illustrated a cartoon comic strip focusing on the Character Ed. "word of the month" for the Kids' Kopy section of The Tribune (this months word is tolerance). Trevor uses his comical sense to connect with his younger readers by communicating in a language they understand: cartoons! This March, Trevor and The Tribune were honored with the award for Best Newspaper In Education/Literacy by The Southern Newspaper Publishers Association in the 25,001 - 75,000 circulation category. Trevor is grateful for receiving such an award for something he enjoys doing each day, producing Entertainment That Matters.

Keynote!
Trevor has been invited to open the Staff Development for Educators (SDE) 7th Annual "I teach 1st!" National Conference! On Monday, July 10th at 8 a.m., Trevor's keynote address will celebrate the difference teachers make in the lives of first graders. This year's conference will be held July 10th - 13th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Trevor will be thinking of his first grade teacher, Mrs. Varrie, during this special time.

Attention Blog fans!
New Zealand's 1st International blog conference, Blog Hui, will be held in Wellington, New Zealand March 17th - 19th! Trevor has been asked to be a keynote speaker and facilitate two exclusive writer's workshops on Sunday, March 19th. Trevor's workshops are entitled, "How to write Memoirs" and "How to write, publish, and market books for children." It is an honor for Trevor to take part in this first annual event and looks forward to meeting fellow bloggers! (He is also a little excited about traveling around New Zealand!)

Taking The 'Duh' Out Of Divorce Wins!
The New York festivals 2006 International Film & Video Awards have been announced! On January 27th, Taking The 'Duh' Out Of Divorce received The Silver World Medal for Home Video: Children's Programs. The New York festivals recognize "The World's Best Work" in international, educational and industrial film productions and corporate video. The competition also covers short film, feature length film and home videos. The Silver World Medal was this years top award!

Only in Vegas!
On January 11th, Facing Fear Without Freaking Out will be featured at The Bean Bag Film Festival for Kids! Every Wednesday in January, at 3 p.m., kids are invited to the Family Theatre Stage on the first floor of the Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas for an afternoon of film, fun and popcorn! If you're in the Vegas area on January 11th, stop by and watch Trevor, Jack and Skye conquer their fears and Screamworks Island! The Trevor Romain Collection Wins Best Series!
The Kids First! Sixth Annual Best Awards have been announced! The Trevor Romain Collection received the Best Independent Series for Ages 5-8! The awards were presented at The 28th Annual Starz Denver International Film Festival on November 19th where they premiered Facing Fear Without Freaking Out. Trevor and The Comical Sense Team are truly honored to receive this award!

The Comical Sense of Trevor Romain takes over elementary school newspapers.
Newspapers In Education has partnered with the Waco Tribune-Herald to start a new 12-page school tabloid, Kids' Kopy. Published once a month during the school year, the tabloid features a different character trait each month. Trevor has been asked to create a comic series on character development called "The Comical Sense of Trevor Romain" to be published in each issue. Each new comic strip will feature Trevor and his cartoon friend Walter Ego as they cover topics like responsibility, cooperation, respect, self discipline, friendship, honesty, courage, and tolerance. Trevor talks about Bullies at the Chicago Book Fair
Bullies Are A Pain In The Brain is the focus topic on the Target stage this Saturday, June 11th. The Chicago Tribune Printer's Row Book Fair will feature Trevor on the Target stage from 2:30-3:00pm. After the presentation, Trevor will be available for an autograph signing session so bring your books and DVD's. Hope to see all our Chicago area fans there!

Trevor appeared as a featured guest on the popular morning show "Fox & Friends" on May 24th. The interview covered his experiences working with kids as well as his current and upcoming book and video projects. Thank you to those who saw the show.

Newport Beach Film Festival
Trevor held the west coast premiere of "Bullies Are A Pain In The Brain" and "How To Do Homework Without Throwing Up" at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 23rd. The screenings were dedicated to his new young friend Tylor, a cancer patient. Trevor and Tylor. are working on a book together to help teach kids about cancer. Everyone in attendance loved the shows and were eager to meet Trevor and Tylor after the screenings.

"How To Do Homework Without Throwing Up" is featured in the April issue of Parenting Magazine. This is quite an honor for our company. "Humor rules this tutorial..." says the reviewer. This issue is available on newsstands now.

National Press Discovers Trevor Romain
Entertaiment Weekly Magazine, a leading consumer entertainment publication, has included the Trevor Romain Collection in it's first ever "Kids" section. Find our review along with select others on page 111 of the March 11th Oscar issue. Their reviewer writes, "... these fast paced episodes candy-coat the messages with fun. B+"

Trevor Endorsed by Kids First!
All three titles were recently featured in the Kids First! Newsletter. This newsletter was sent out to 10,000 subscribers and highlighted video reviews by both kid and adult jurors. The good news is people of all ages seem to love Trevor.

USA Film Festival
Trevor appeared at the USA Film Festival this past weekend. At the festival, approximately 160 screened "Bullies Are A Pain In The Brain." "The kids loved the show", Trevor said. After the show, Trevor signed autographs for over a hundred. We had so much fun this year, we can't wait to be a part of the festival again next year - thank you USA Film Festival!
