Humble Pie From A Previous Post

dogpee.jpg

It really amazes me how the universe knows how and when to put people in their place.

I have been so caught up in myself just lately. The letter “I” has been dominating my vocabulary a little too much.

Apparently the universe agrees.

I bent down to pat a cute little dog in the neighborhood yesterday and, yes, he peed on my leg.

He did not care about all the books I have written. He couldn’t care less about my video awards. He couldn’t give a hoot that my jeans, upon which he peed (a lot) cost ninety three dollars.

He did what he needed to do and in the process brought me down to earth…and gave me a huge laugh.

Thank you little dog for reminding me that I am not as important and I sometimes think I am.

Trevor, this reminds me of one of Peter Sellers' last Pink Panther movies. In one scene, Inspector Clouseau is checking into an inn in the Alps. In the little check-in area, there is a desk manned by the owner, and a dog. Insp. Clouseau asks the owner, "Does your dog bit?" The owner doesn't understand him and Clouseau repeats, "Does your dog bit?" The owner replies 'No." Clouseau then bends down to pet the dog, who jumps up, snarling, and almost takes Clouseau's hand off. Clouseau turns to the owner and says. "I thought you said your dog does not bit!", to which the owner nonchalantly replies, "That is not my dog."

LOL
Cute =)

Personally, I would get grossed out if that happened and I would run off quickly to change clothes!

I am sure you realize that dogs enjoy marking their territory right?
Perhaps he was reminding you of how special you are ...
He was protecting something he felt was important!
He was lettin' all the other hounds in the area KNOW that this was a marked/remarkable SPOT!

Now the picture changes a bit!

He honored you and reminded you of how wonderful you were ... right THAR, AS IS. =)

That is humbling and extraordinary!

LOL

Who knows! This made me laugh though. =)

I couldn't help but add one more comment.
After I wrote the initial comment, I had one more thought ...

Dogs at times will piddle at the feet of their master in excitement, submission, etc...

Along with being *humbled, perhaps he was also reminding you of your *greatness that day.
Those *two walk hand in hand. =)

What a remarkable little message this dog offered that day. =)
