I would like to take this time to thank all of you that have given so much to my family and helped to bring a smile to a young man’s heart when he needed it the most. I could sit here for hours and tell you all the times he has brought so much love into my life and showed me how to be more or a man. I know that I am a lot older then (T) but he has shown me that life is what you make of it not what it gives you.
As I sat next to Tyler the last few hours of his life all I could do is remember all the times that I spent with him. There is one time I would like to share with all of you and I hope that it will bring a little smile to your heart.
I was just before Christmas 2004 and I had to get a lot of shopping done. As always I put it off till the last minute so there was a lot of running around to do. Tyler came over the night before we were to go to watch how to play poker with the big boys as he called it. While we were playing I told him that we were going to go shopping at 5 am to get all the good sale’s and he begged to go along so I told his mom and dad that he would be spending the night so we could go shopping.
The next morning he got up with us and was ready before we could even get around to go. He counted his money he got from working at Miller Meat here in Findlay and was at the door ready to spend his hard earned money. When we got to the store he jumped on the first motor shopping cart and handed me his crutch to put back in the truck so he would have more room in the basket. Know mind you this place was packed full of shoppers and it was hard for me to get around by walking. But not for Tyler he was a man on a mission. He would roll up on that cart and push his way thru the lanes of shoppers and give them looks panic so that he could get to the items he wanted for his family.
I have never seen that boy so excited about anything before. He wanted to buy Christmas gifts for his family and he knew what he wanted and he was going to get it no matter what. You know that shows me what kind of young man Tyler really was, he wanted to share all that he could to bring a smile to the ones that he loved. He never has been selfish or greedy. All he knew how to do is make others happy even if he was in so much pain that he was holding back the tears.
So as I end this with a sadness in my heart I would like to remind all of you that know Tyler that his Family now needs all the support you can give them. Even a hug could mean a lot to them. I would also like to thank Trevor for making Tyler live on in a book and for all the love that you have given him and his family.. I LOVE YOU TYLER AND I WILL SEE YOU SOON YOUR UNCLE REX….
