I'm glad you got to see her again - and to see her smile this time. I felt so sorry for her last time you wrote about her. I hope she'll meet a lot of happy dogs this summer.

And the lesson to be learned?
I believe it is in the center of Avery Brooke's simple prayer.
"And how, dear God, do I live the rest of my days. With courage and without complaint. To give and receive small joys. To teach the best that has been learned and to learn a little more. Amen."
The dog was a small joy. No?
Ah, but how should I know? I am just an old gypsy woman.

Ahh, so glad you shared this 'Light' as well.
This entry made me smile for there was much chaos within my home growing up; however there were many, many things that made me smile and brought me happiness – it was, at times, the animals that got me through and other folks who noticed my smiles and encouraged them … in spite of. =)
Although it does not detract from what we see at that specific moment, there is ‘often’ much more to a story than what we see at first glance.
I trust my perceptive and intuitive nature much; however, with my 'at first glance judgments' I have to be ever mindful of seeing too much and imagining more and at times not seeing enough and imagining too little. (this is not absolute for some things can be clearly seen immediately).
I continue to read you, Trevor.
Food for thought entries that continue to inspire both my kids and I.
May you continue to notice and to be inspired by the smiles of many!
May you continue to inspire the smiles of many!
Love from afar yet near in Heart,
~Shannon
